The trick is to not squeeze the sides of the trim ring while turning counter-clockwise.
(when grabbing the trim ring on the side, it tends to squeeze/pinch the threads)
Try palming the front of the trim ring while turning counter-clockwise.
To prevent the badge holder from turning while twisting the trim ring off, try holding the badge holder with one had (thumb on front of the badge and finger(s) on the backside of the holder) and with your other hand, apply pressure to the front facing of the trim ring while turning counter-clock wise.
Also, try using a rubber jar opener or rubber gloves. Again, apply pressure to the front facing of the trim ring while turning.
Once the trim ring is off, apply a small amount of Vaseline to the inside threads of the trim ring. This will help prevent sticking in the future
We also suggest periodically removing the trim ring and badge and wiping off any moisture and dirt off to keep the badge holder clean. |
